Motorcycle Model:2011 Honda CBR250R

All TYGA products used listed below.

The styling on the 2011 CBR250R is controversial at best, and bit of mess as seen from certain angles at worst. Ok, I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but the word disjointed springs to mind when viewing the incomplete seat cowling fitted to this model. There is no denying that the passenger seat and the big grab rails are practical, but assuming the bike is not going to be ridden with a passenger slowing you up, then there is no denying it, this part of the bike is ugly and should go.

Then there is the weight issue. The bike hides its weight well on the move, but with relatively low power and weighing as much as a sports 600, any weight saving is welcome., Apart from the weight saving of the passenger themselves, there is a lot more to be saved from removing the stock seat cowling, taillight, huge metal subframe that holds the lights (what were Honda thinking) and the solid cast grab rails and passenger peg assemblies. Replace these parts with the TYGA seat cowling, LED tail light and exhaust stay and bingo! your bike now weighs a whole 2 kg or 4.5 pounds less and looks a whole lot better. You still have access to the luggage compartment which is actually increased in size now the huge taillight scaffolding has been removed and your bike now is lot more easy on the eye so it is win win all the way.

Installation of the kit is really easy and you only need a few basic tools. The biggest job is removing all the stock Honda ballast.

The bike shown here is our project bike with all the other TYGA goodies installed. We obviously needed to present the bike with an exhaust system to help accentuate the weight saving. This system is a slip on link pipe with an open Moto Maggot. it has a truly obnoxious deafening sound that wouldn’t be legal anywhere except on the moon. Talking of which, if a Saturn V is the loudest machine ever made then this comes in a close second!

Some astute ‘anoraks’ will notice that the red and white paint scheme of this bike is actually the same as the CBR150R. Well, correct, it is actually 150 bodywork which we like better because of the colours and the way the screen comes down to a ‘V’ on the front fairing. The 150R tank will not fit in case anyone is wondering but the rest is identical to the 250. The other scheme is the stock red and silver CBR250R scheme.

As well as the bodywork and exhaust, this bike has been modified using our other TYGA Performance and Honda products.

You can see a list of the parts used below.
